A NEW Sydney production of The聽Vagina Monologues, a show that pays tribute to the female identity and sexuality, will be led by a cast and crew that features LGBTI people.

It’s also being staged in a baptist church in the heart of Sydney’s North Shore.

The show will include daring and liberating stories from trans actress JoAnna Ferrari and queer feminist Portia Predny as part of an all-female line up that聽tells personal stories about their life experiences and their no-longer-so-private parts.

Directed by self-described “intersectional driven lesbian feminist scientist” Megan Spindler, the Obie Award-winning show by Eve Ensler is a divergent gathering of female voices.

鈥�The Vagina Monologues is about women鈥� it鈥檚 that simple,” Spindler said.

鈥淚t鈥檚 about women and not about women versus men, or women versus society. It is simply a place for the female voice to speak up and be heard without restriction.

“My aim for this production is not to define or judge the experiences of women,聽but merely allow a space for the audience to listen, think and determine for themselves聽what these honest sometimes funny and sometimes horrid stories mean to them.

“My hope is that every audience member leaves with a slightly more open mind and heart that makes the way for one other human just that little bit easier.鈥�
