As always this is just the usual PR guff people are told to say when they do something wrong. Nothing changes, the world just forgets it and moves on.

Nothing has worked so far, so it is time to get serious. AFL needs to up the ante by an order of magnitude, and start rubbing players out for life. These guys know damned well what they are saying. There is no excuse, it is just macho posturing to prove a point and they believe they are invincible. For the most part they are just overpaid, uneducated yobs who can kick a ball around.
