I well remember when i lived in both Sydney and Melbourne, when just admitting to be homosexual could land you in prison or, much more likely, to get a vicious, sadistic beating by the police in both States, this was long before George “Ian” Duncan was beaten up and drowned in Adelaide’s River Torrens by the SA Police. I knew two sets of Identical Twin brothers one in Sydney the other in Melbourne who were in a long-term sexual realtionship. No-one thought anything about it.
