Over the years Australia has seen literally thousands of ageing pop singers suddenly finding that Australia exists and they see a last chance opportunity to make a bucketful of money if they tour Australia.
Tens of thousands of Australians have been living overseas for decades. Then along comes Covid19. Initially, Australia was, compared in particular to the UK and US, a Safe Haven, we had relatively few cases and what happened? All these Australian Citizens, for whom Australia was not good enough, suddenly demand as their Right to be allowed to “come home”. A number claimed that their Teenage Children had never met their Australian Grandparents! Well they had ample time to do so long before Covid19 arrived.
It is time to stop calling Minogue a “Pop Princess”. She hasn’t had a hit song in years, she is now just another ageing pop singer doubtless hoping that if she makes a tour here she will make lots of money out of gullible every bit as ageing fans.
