I hope the Northern Territory becomes a state one day, we were very close in the 1998 refaremdum for statehood by just 1%, then we can have both the legalisation of euthanasia and civil union back that cunt Kevin Andrews took away nearly 20 years ago! Laws in the NT and ACT can be overridden by the federal government of the day and that is fucking undemocratic and blatant unconstitutional! I hope you win mate!

I wish him the best! I hope he wins, we need more independents in our parliament! It is so true, the two party political system is broken in Australia. Half of my family lives in either Wollongong or Darwin! The Northern Territory still does not have:

* civil union or relationship register scheme (the same with WA and SA);
* the only place in Australia to ban RU486:
* the only place in Australia where there are no laws at all regarding any surrogacy contracts;
* expungement scheme; and
* adoption equality for de facto and gay couples.
