I am proud that Forbes Shire Council is funding this. I spoke with the mayor Phyllis Miller just last week and even more funding will be provided. We have 2 out of the 9 councillors (all independent or unaffiliated) who are in fact gay men. For a central west town of about 8,000 people that is not bad at all! Tonight at Calarie (about 7 km north of Forbes) we will host our own Gay and lesbian Mardi Gras! The mayor and me also hope that a federal election gets called immediately and when the new government with a new parliament will pass a law on marriage equality very soon. We are getting very close, just 5 lower house MPs to go! We already have a majority of Senators who support marriage equality for some time now! I personally hope to get into the Australian parliament one day. Whatever you do at the next federal election, do not vote for the National or Liberal party ever, period!
