But didn’t all those Mums and Dads from the suburbs love all that Glitz and Glamour!
Oh! Yes they were only too willing to make snide remarks, to call Les Girls Freaks and worse when down at “The Club”, “The Bowls”, “The Pub”, their churches, their schools with many actually denying they had ever gone to see the shows.
BUT they flocked to those brilliant shows. They laughed with, cheered for and applauded the Girls.
We used to go on a regular basis, for a time we lived with one or two of the Girls. The ‘straights” always out-numbered us. Away from the Show, It was interesting to see some of “our” Stars on the arms of some of the biggest, butchest, most macho footballers. Of course they weren’t gay! They just liked to screw pretty young men – or be screwed by them!
