I don’t think its really that silly to suggest gendered toys leads to violence and gender gaps. While the toys themselves might not, the idea of a strict gender binary, with Boys on one side with defining traits and Girls on the other with defining traits, leads to the systematic oppression of women (or, rather, individuals with physical female traits).

When boys are encouraged with toys to develop mental and physical skills, they’ll grow up thinking those are boy activites, while girls are confined to cooking and mothering. Basically the gendered marketing contributes to the culture that raises boys to be violent towards themselves and others, and thus does contribute, I think, to domestic violence and later the wage gap.

What a joke Australia has become!
