In a recent interview, writer, and actor in his movie 鈥楤ros鈥�, Billy Eichner revealed that Aussie heartthrob Liam Hemsworth was supposed to have a role in the movie.

Eichner explained in an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle that in the movie Eichner and Macfarlane鈥檚 character go see a fictional movie together, a sort of parody of 鈥楤rokeback Mountain鈥�.

Jonas and Hemsworth were supposed to be the fictional couple in that movie. 鈥淲e were going to shoot scenes from that movie, and Liam was going to be one of the tragic closeted frontiersmen鈥� Eichner said.

Macfarlane聽Jokes Australia Is To Blame

鈥淲e had a whole zoom meeting with him [Hemsworth], and he was lovely and charming and funny, but then COVID hit again, and he couldn鈥檛 travel from Australia.鈥澛�

Macfarlane jokingly said that Australia kept Hemsworth from being in the film, while Eichner joked about him potentially being in the sequel.

Eichner also shared during the interview, why this film was so important to him and other queer people. 鈥�A lot of the stories that we got were about gay men suffering and you know, being in the closet and sort of about the challenges of being gay, which are all very important stories to tell. But we didn’t get many comedies, many joyful movies about being gay and about being single and gay鈥�

Eichner and Macfarlane also spoke about how they hope the film allows for many more conversations to happen and encourage people to come out. 鈥淚t鈥檚 really powerful 鈥� It鈥檚 really moving to hear those stories.鈥�

Bros releases in Australia on October 27, 2022. Macfarlane, Eichner and the film’s director Nicholas Stoller聽are currently touring Australian cities to promote the film. They recently visited the Victorian Pride Centre, Australia鈥檚 first purpose-built hub for LGBTIQ+ communities, in St Kilda.聽
