Natalie Bassingthwaighte Fends Off Hate After Coming Out

Australian singer and actor Natalie Bassingthwaighte has addressed the vicious comments she has received since coming out.聽

On Thursday, November 30, Bassingthwaighte spoke of the 鈥渓ove鈥 and 鈥渉ate鈥 that followed a post of herself of her partner Pip Loth on Instagram.

鈥榃ith Love Comes Hate鈥

Posting the series of videos on social media, Bassingthwaighte expressed her gratitude for the positive comments after recently coming out and sharing the of her partner.聽 聽

鈥淭hank you for all the love and support鈥 it has been so beautiful,鈥 said Bassingthwaighte.

鈥淥n the flip side of it, with love comes hate.”

鈥淚 don’t understand how people have time to go on people鈥檚 pages and comment so viciously and horrifically and intentionally make people feel awful,鈥 she continued.

Bassingthwaighte explained that comments about her family, ex-husband Cameron McGlinchey, her children and girlfriend Loth, will not be accepted on her media channels.聽

鈥淢y team will be looking at the comments and will be blocking anyone who says anything negative about anyone I love,鈥 she said.

鈥業 Won鈥檛 Tolerate It鈥

Along with comments, Bassingthwaighte also mentioned the harassment from 鈥減aparazzi鈥 following herself and her friends.聽

鈥淚 won’t accept paparazzi coming to my door, following my friends, making up stories about us; It鈥檚 a load of crap, it’s not acceptable and I want it to stop,鈥 Bassingthwaighte continued.

鈥淲e all deserve respect and love because we are all human. We all cry, we all bleed, we all suffer.鈥

In requesting any comments and harassment to stop, Bassingthwaighte encourages audiences to 鈥渂e kind鈥 and deflect hate as it is a 鈥渟lippery slope.鈥

鈥淗ate just brings more hate. And I don’t have any hate in my life.鈥澛

Bassingthwaighte reassured fans that she is okay following the past week鈥檚 events, saying 鈥淚鈥檓 happy, I鈥檓 safe, I鈥檓 well.鈥

Coming Out

Last week,聽聽after she was threatened by someone planning to out her.聽

In a November 18 interview with Stellar magazine podcast, Something To Talk About, Bassingthwaighte said, 鈥淚 am in a beautiful relationship with a woman who makes my heart smile and makes me really happy.鈥

鈥淚 wanted to [come out] in my time when I was ready, and speak my truth when I was ready.鈥

On Tuesday, November 28, Bassingthwaighte reposted an appreciation post from Loth, expressing the 鈥渓ove and immense joy鈥 the couple have provided each other with.聽

鈥淚 am so incredibly lucky and overwhelmingly grateful for you,鈥 Loth commented.聽

  1. Justb what do the Haters get out of it? Do they get some sort of sexual thrill knowing that the vitriol they spew can never be traced back to them for as I think most of us who have been abused on-line know they haven’t the guts, the backbone to actually identify themselves and like the despicable cowards they all are they hide behind silly names., Congratulations, Natalie and Loth! Don’t take no shit from no-one!

  2. I am 78 yo and came out in my late 20s. I live in a small country town and my partner and I are very visible in our community. There is so much more love than hate in the world and being out allows us to see that. I presume that the haters stay away.
