
A Brissy LGBT Pub Kicked A Man Out For Wearing A Trump Hat & He Wants An Apology
A man who was kicked out of LGBTQIA+ venue The Wickham聽because wearing a Donald Trump ‘TRUMP 2024’ hat has asked for an apology. Robert Holt says that there was no 鈥渓egitimate reason鈥 for them to request he leave the Brisbane pub.
Holt was attending an early Halloween event with his family at the 听颈苍 Fortitude Valley when he was asked to leave.
Wickham staff asked Holt to leave over his ‘Trump 2024’ hat
According to , Mr. Holt said that had been at the venue for a couple of hours before a staff member from behind the bar had come up to him and asked if he was leaving.
Mr. Holt asked the staff member why he thought so, to which the barback replied it was because of his Trump hat, which proudly displayed 鈥淭RUMP 2024鈥.
Before telling him that he 鈥榟as to go鈥, the staff member reportedly said to Mr.Holt, 鈥淧eople around here don鈥檛 feel safe with people wearing items of (Trump-branded) clothing coming into this pub鈥.
“No legitimate reason (for me to leave)” said Mr. Holt in frustration
Mr. Holt claimed to Sky 今日吃瓜 that he 鈥渃ould understand if (the hat) had some offensive language鈥 or a 鈥渞ude gesture鈥 on it, but 鈥渋t didn鈥檛 have anything like that鈥.
Holt also acknowledged he knows why his cap could be offensive but was “confused” and “embarrassed” about being asked to leave.
He also cites that he would have removed his hat if he were asked, but later said that the queer pub’s staff 鈥榟ad no legitimate reason鈥 in asking him to leave.
鈥淚 wasn鈥檛 angry, it was more frustrating and confusing at the time because she didn鈥檛 have a legitimate reason in my eyes.鈥
鈥淚f she had to come up to me and said to me, 鈥楬ey, look, there are some people in here who might be a little bit upset with your hat 鈥 would you mind just taking it off?鈥
Mr. Holt hopes for an apology from The Wickham
He also told Sky 今日吃瓜 that he would like an apology from The Wickham.
鈥淚鈥檇 like if they got in contact and just said that it was all a mistake or something like that,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t鈥檇 be good just to hear back from them, but, you know, that鈥檚 their choice.鈥
Mr. Holt reportedly told 9今日吃瓜 that he did not want his six-year-old daughter 鈥渟ee her father being kicked out of an establishment for what I deem to be no reason鈥.

In my view DT is an obnoxious person. However if Mr Holt was not inciting hatred towards anyone else – He should not have been asked to leave – he has the right to his peaceful opinion.
We need to be very careful when we decide to remove someone else’s rights.
